It's not a bad install at all. I think it took me about an hour, most of which was spent trying to figure out how to get the shifter's in/out around the transmission. It's only about (4) bolts to deal with, but there isnt a lot of space to work in.

I helped a friend put his in (08 GT mgw shifter) it was pretty easy, couple bolts were hard to get to, you dont HAVE to take the transmission cross brace off and lower it down but it can help. Just read the directions, if the directions are crappy then you shouldnt have purchased that shifter :)

I just finished installing mine. Used jack stands and no problems. Getting the shifter out and in is the hardest part like the others mentioned, but once it out it's easy!

Save the money for something else instead of paying that much to have it installed

Well that's how you are "supposed" to do it. Drop the drive shaft andnpull it up. Buuuut how everyone does it is to wiggle till you get the perfect angle and put it in from the inside of the car.

I did not drop my drive shaft. When I read the instructions for my hurst shifter it said wiggle the new shifter into the hole. When they said put the shifter through the hole. They ment you have to go below the car and lift the new shifter into position.

I just put my car on my hoist and did it from underneath... I don't know how anyone could do it from inside the car because getting at the bolts would be a B. In my opinion is the roush racing short throw shifter. IMO

I id my steeda on jack stands and ramps, no need to drop the driveshaft. Its a little bit a pain to get to the front nut but other then that no problems. Make sure you use blue tradlocker when you put it back together.
