Someone wants to trade me a 1970 coupe with a 460 and a C6 for my 84 GT350. His is a project car, needs most of interior, floorboards, an exhaust, and paint. Mine needs a timing cover gasket and wont start unless you jumpstart (i havent been able to figure out why for the life of me yet).

Anyone think this is a fair deal? Im a little hesitant because i was proud of the fact that my GT350 was rare. But then the other one is a classic with a huge engine, but its not a fastback. Any opinions?

Note that i havent seen it yet, im going down to see it this weekend.

...1st of all mustang never had a 460cu.in. engine.

in '70 they produced
-428ci cobra jet (335hp)
-429ci boss (375hp)

if you can match up vin's and determine this is original engine, and depending on overall condition and your abilities the 70 will when build is complete be a far better car with a far higher value than your existing fox body.

if his engine has been swapped in & i suspect it has....i would be less inclined depending on how much you want the 70's look (nice) and big engine.....i am not sure unless it has original engine you could define the 70 hardtop as a classic......

certainly the hardtop will never have the same value as the fastback editions.
