So car has 40k on here sometimes when I go wot and bang through gears it's smells like I'm burning clutch . So maybe over summer plan on putting the spec 1 clutch from AM on there. What else would be easy to do since they will have to drop trans and will probably be pricey. Any guesses on a clutch instal price thanks

Nvm i see where, im from Havana ILL. Id do the swap for way less then that $1100 dollar crap.
I wouldn't pay more than $350 labor, It's a fairly simple job with the proper tools.
Ya 1100 ? No way in world I would pay that I'd trade it in before a 1100 labor charge lol ya I think I should do the spec 2 clutch and Barton shifter at same time? So in parts about 600 then labor 4-500? I'm near Chicago

Shifter would only take ya an hour, 2 tops. It's pretty easy.
I think from $1100 to $1500 installed
I bet he is talking the clutch plus install....
The entire clutch change/pilot bearing removal and install it all can be done in 2 1/2 to 3 hrs tops. Unless you have long tubes
Not yet on long tubes have to prioritize clutch may be more important idk lol it's not slipping ever and still feels good though

Then y change it? Leave it alone it could just have something like grease or who knows what on it. Give it a few more days to see if the smell goes away. What kind of smell is it?
Like its burnt metal lol only does it when I'm getting on it and banging through gears maybe its normal idk first manual car

If your smelling it, then It's slipping. I wouldn't go wot til It's fixed, other wise you'll be replacing it sooner.
Only did it once but I do monitor it and I don't have 1k laying around right now so over summer will be a mod but my drag strip opens nx month here and I hope to be there opening day lo
Sounds like you may have been riding the clutch then and didn't realize it.
Maybe that's what it was and simply. A accident on my part lol just don't want to drop 1k if I don't have to that's all

If it only happened the one time I'd say your good. We've all embarrassed ourselves showing off. Lol

I noticed that with my clutch last summer at the track. I'd slow down after reaching the 1/4 finish line and by the time I got turned around I'd smell it. At first, I assumed it was my brakes you know for stopping hard. At our track you have to keep the windows up. So I tried a hard brake with the winders rolled up and didn't smell a thing. What I thought was funny is that I was not having any other signs of probs with my clutch at the time. Turns out I got lucky. I was having a noise investigated and got a new tranny under warranty. When they replaced my tranny, I had purchased a new Exedy stage 1 clutch, FRPP TOB, and FRPP pilot bearing to install while they were doing the swap. Long story, I know. You smelling your clutch brought out the inner grandpa in me I guess. Lol The Exedy stage 1 clutch seems to be pretty go so far.
