Yesterday i was driving my mustang, which is restored but not fully restored. It was all stock and ive put about 3 grand or more into it + a custom paint job etc. Im not sure yet if it is totaled in the accident but i was not at fault the other driver was etc. If it was totaled what could i hope for sticker price wise? it was a coupe basic mustang non gt, with a 600 dollar exhaust etc. No rust no nothing. all the engine work was done interior just needed some work, new brakes, new shocks, new front end parts. thanks!

As always, they will try to low-ball you and give you the lowest possible amount. If totaled, don't take the check if you think your car is (resonably) worth more then they are offering. They will call or show up or sometimes just send you a check. If you cash that check, then that is all you will get. So don't cash a check that is worth less than your car is worth. Tell them "No, I think it is worth more." and send the check back. Remember, they're not your insurance company, so they're not trying to please you.

Did you open the door and fall out on the ground and say "call me a lawyer and an ambulance, in that order"? (just kidding) I tell you right now the insurance adjuster is going to try and screw you because the insurance company ain't gonna want to pay for your classic car. Don't do anything dishonest here, but you may have to retain an attorney just to get what you deserve. He will make sure his fee is in what he gets from the insurance, but make sure you get enough to make it right for you.
