I have a 1967 coupe that currently has a 200ci with a 3 spd trans. Has anyone done a SOHC 4.6 5 spd swap? Besides the obvious rear end, suspension and brakes what else might I run into?

You've got the whole computer necessity, which could be a wiring nightmare and OBDII port. Plus requirements to handle fuel injection (fuel pump, lines, etc.) Would be pretty awesome though.

I was thinking on swapping the fuel injection for a carb set up. If I went that way I think the hardest thing would be getting the coils to work.

What year engine are you thinking? The 3v has variable cam timing adjusted by the computer and oil pressure in the heads. The computer also regulates the fuel air ratio at idle and wot. If you're thinking carb, it'll be cheaper to build a 351 and slap a SC on it. You could still upgrade the rear to IRS and upgrade the tranny.

Do they make an intake that takes a carb for the 2v engine? You still have the issue of no distributor. You must a computer for the coil packs.
Can you sell the engine and build a badass one?

I think you're asking for trouble if you're not going to install the 2v as it was and use it as it was originally with computer and fuel injection

One of the biggest issue remaining is the coils. Any ideas on getting that going?

Install the computer in the car and put a chip in it where it doesn't try to read for the injectors, then the coils should still fire fine

Would a MSD Ignition box work for the coils? I'd like to keep the car computer free if possible.

I could go with a push rod motor but I want it to be different.
