It was pointed out to me at one of my local car shows that my sound tube is the main thing that's keeping the look under my hood clean... question is will removing it give me more or less noise in cabin? Haven't found enough feedback for me to go thru with it yet... I don't want more in cabin, should I get rid of it or not?

It'll he quieter, it was designed to help give some of the sound of the motor to the cabin
OK I like quieter with windows up, I have the plug to cover the intake part, but not for the firewall...I heard from one of the guys at the local shows that's its the same seal that's under the master cylinder cap that I can get at a local parts store

Yeah, I deleted mine too when I got the intake. With the sound tube after the intake was installed, the sound was so loud in the cabin at WOT that it sounded fake. It sounds much better now without the tube. image-994605915.jpg Here's mine.

Thanks for the info guys, I thought the opposite... I thought I heard the tube keeps the cabin more quiet... guess I was a little disappointed after the short shifter install I have more cabin noise so I have some dynamat and some multi purpose insulation... hopefully it works, I like the noise to be outside :p

do you like the shifter?
Shifters great!! Feels like a while new car, reverse takes a little more effort but not bad at all... I wonder how much better it'll be after changing the stock fluid... I never had any issues with like some had that's why I didn't feel the immediate need to change it... think I'll do it when spring gets here. I know u have over 30k did u ever change it? If u did, was there a difference ?

Yea changed it at 29k with RP and it made a huge difference, I barely even notice the notchiness anymore, haven't missed a shift in quite some time either. Either I'm not having the same problems as most of else I'm a better driver than most lol

I nuked the sound tube using a little kit I bought online for like $10. You could also source the parts locally. Cleans up the engine bay and to be honest I didn't notice any difference with the sound of the engine in the cabin. I mainly hear the Roush axlebacks and later this week the Boss 302 side-pipes once I get them installed. Happy days!

Personally, I think the sound tube is a silly idea. It seems like something a Ricer would have on his car. just my humble opinion.

Deleted mine for free with a vacuum cap and zip tie. Can get those parts for about $1 though... I never plugged the firewall, but I probably should.

I bought a plug and forgot to put it in. My car sat in my driveway for a month after the wreck and when it got towed to the body shop I discovered ants had invaded my interior. :(

I've just been too lazy to look for one. All the parts stores look at me like I'm ****ing retarded when I ask if they carry firewall plugs. Where did you get yours?
