I'm now finding out:

The drive gear on Ford rear wheel automatic transmissions is machined into the output shaft. Changing the drive gear is impractical since it requires a new output shaft and transmission teardown. Most have 7 or 8 teeth.

So changing to 4.10 gear means the speedometer can't be corrected? 97 automatic.

You have a 98? Did you upgrade gears? Using this do you still need the 30 tooth speedo gear?
