If you have a 03-04 Cobra and or you have bought a sct BA maf do not buy the sct tuner from bama! I bought the tuner to fix a lean issue, I buy my first mod a month later ( a SCT BA MAF) and they are unable to tune my car now. Im thinkin there should be a disclaimer for people that already have high horsepower cars. I just wasted a bunch of money for nothing and im not real happy about!

...and you're doing a canned tune why? I wouldn't let them tune my car if they were paying me

for a supercharged car you must be VERY careful, dont trust ANY tune initially, should be dyno tested and should not just be an off the shelf tune. They should be able to remote into where ever you are dynoing and tweek the tune as needed on the fly to get you where you need to be. If the dyno shop wont let them they can at least go back and forth with you at the dyno to dial it in.

Mi03svt, First off, I'm sorry you were put in this situation, I have no doubt it's very frustrating. Lets see if we can clear the air a little here, I feel there's a little miscommunication possibly.

All our tunes are custom made by hand for each car and not off the shelf canned tunes. However, we're unable to see each cars personal characteristics or traits they have, which can be corrected easily on a dyno. Without this information, tuning has to be limited to more minor bolt on cars with factory sensors so they're more consistent with their "reactions" to other similar stock cars. This way the base tune can only be so far off when uploaded in multiple bolt-on cars and stay in a safe non threatening range (before tweaked for certain bolt-ons).

The reason we're unable to tune your Termi is because the maf calibration has changed once you installed the BA MAF you bought. We can't count on the same consistency like the stock MAF and write up a tune. Bama Performance's main concern is SAFE TUNES for all of our customers. Without tuning on a dyno, it's impractical to write a powerful and safe tune based on characteristic assumptions with an aftermarket maf.

I wanted to give you the full details of the situation so you didn't think we are unable to tune your car "just cause." I don't want to lose you as a customer over this either. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with or if you would like to know a recommended Speed shop to tune your car on a dyno with your new BA MAF. Either way I'd be happy to help out!

Well, my intention was definitely not to bad mouth American Muscle, even though it appears to have come across that way. My intention was to inform fellow Cobra owners or people that have bought the same MAF that they cant be tuned "over the phone"! I am a bit aggravated over the whole situation since I never even got the chance to take advantage of a tune. I do think there should be a disclaimer that there is a limit or certain mods that can not be tuned over the phone. I understand that I shouldnt rely on the handheld method with my type of car, I bought that to get my car to a starting point and get to a dyno to get it tuned properly. My apologies for appearing to slam AM on a sponsored site, was not my goal!
