Does anyone have an issue with the thermostat housing and the housing flange on the 302 intake not totally matching up I can't get it to totally seal. I've even tried to make another gasket to the housing and it didn't work. It looks like the bypass tube over hangs the flange on the intake just a pinch It leaks at that corner. I've tried rtv also. Any thoughts?
Also have an opportunity to get a 97 explorer upper and lower intake. 97 explorer IIRC. It's the type with the EGR passages. No porting or repairs,no stripped bolt holes. Some minor pitting on the throttle body flange, but nothing that will present a problem.
Do you guys know if this will work on my car I have a 88 gt

If you car is a California car or has been converted to mass air, the intake will work.

@dreamstang lol yes it is. It is an aftermarket one. One i got from mishimoto with the radiator kit the other one I got from advanced auto they're both identical. should I go to ford and order one? Or will the aftermarket one line up with the explorer lower intake?

Yes both leaked at the same corner. The gasket matches the intake flange But not the housing flange exactly.

That is weird!yes it would be best to get from ford at this point.I don't personally like to buy dealer parts unless I have to cause the price.but sometimes there is no choice.compare it to your other ones before you install it so if its not different u can take it back without wasting money.
