It looks like I'm going to drive my baby in the snow this winter. :-( I'm looking around on Craigs List and such for a cheep, good set of winter tires and/or rims. The questions is what size tires/bolt pattern should I be looking for. I know I have a five bolt 225/60/R17 on her now, but would sizes can fit? Anything with a five bolt pattern if I drop to a 215/55 (or any other size?) Thanks for help, guys/gals!

That actually was my plan from the start. I need new tires in the spring anyways so my plan was to make the stock rims I have now my winter set and wrap them with a blizzak set up then upgrade to the charcoal AM AMR set up in the early spring.

I just really wanted to take the cheapest way out of this situation right now and don't plan on doing a lot of driving in the winter, but to and from work I need a tire I can rely on. There's a lot of good deals on CL with tires/rims with plenty of tread left, so if I can skate away with only spending $350 on a used set compared to over $500 on just new tires (which I only plan on using a season), I think that would be better in the short run. Get what I'm saying?

Now the second question is what size tire can fit on my stock rim? Does it have to be the 225/60/R17?
