I'm trading in my 2001 v6.. Looking to upgrade.. My budget is 10k

This is what I have come down too...

A 99-04 Gt with less the 70k. OR..

A 05-09 V6 with less the 90K

I have check insurance and with a 99-04 GT it goes up +25
And a 05-09 V6 it goes up +10

Biggest concerns
I love the s197 looks but fan of the NE as well.
But the s197 are much more comfortable.
I don't want to take a huge hit on gass mileage.

Any and I mean and opinions big or small are welcome..

You can get 18-20mpg city with the NE GT if your feet are well behaved. It can also come down to the type of interior. The S197 is bigger on the inside but i've got an 01 Bullitt and wouldn't give these seats up for anything. They are comfortable, leather, and hold me in well. I personally would go with the GT just for the sound and power alone. ( I do love the body style also). Before i got mine i was debating the same thing as you, 99-04 GT or 05-09 v6. Ended up with a 01 Bullitt.

I would probably go gt but just because I like the sound of a v8. Me and my bro both recently bought a mustang i got a 2002 gt and he got an 08 v6, on take off i get him everytime but he can run off and leave me on a curvy road. Either way im sure youll be happy, both of them are very fun cars

A 2005 GT in that price range would be ideal but I must keep wishing

Wait.... Ur wondering on wether or not you should get a v6 over a v8?

V8 New Edge all day. Sits with a Much meaner looking stance IMO.

Everyone has their taste, all in all your staying within the mustang family, good luck, have fun, and of course be safe with the one you choose.

I've only drive two NE gt 5 speeds but I can tell you it was probably the best shifting car I remember..

Well for me it dissatisfied me its slow :/ when I test drove it I fell in love with it because it looks beautiful but it is kinda slow.. if youre not looking for speed get a 4.0 they look nice.. but if you want something fast get a v8 .. if I could go back in time I would of gotten a gt..
I don't mind the 3.8 I have now I do like the idea of speed.. I just have to justify spending the same for a 5 year older car....... Hmmmmm

I think the 4.0 is a bit faster than the 3.8.. but like I said if u want something that will make u proud on the streets get a gt.. I'm trading mine for a 2009 gt :) i test drove it and there's so much difference makes you smile all the time lol

If speed isnt a big issue i would go with whatever bodystyle you like the best. I hate to admit it but my brothers 08 v6 isnt much slower than my 02 gt and it corners a whole lot better.
If both your cars are stock, then there's no way that V6 should keep up with ya. Not in a straight line and not in the corners.

If your patient then you can find just about what ever you want for what ever price!.. I have a buddy who picked up a 2004 Saleen Vert with less than 20,000 miles on it. It also had thousands of dollars in additional mods into it too. He only paid just under $13,000.

You should not have any problem finding one for that price.
