I'm trading in my 2001 v6.. Looking to upgrade.. My budget is 10k

This is what I have come down too...

A 99-04 Gt with less the 70k. OR..

A 05-09 V6 with less the 90K

I have check insurance and with a 99-04 GT it goes up +25
And a 05-09 V6 it goes up +10

Biggest concerns
I love the s197 looks but fan of the NE as well.
But the s197 are much more comfortable.
I don't want to take a huge hit on gass mileage.

Any and I mean and opinions big or small are welcome..

A 2005 GT in that price range would be ideal but I must keep wishing

I've only drive two NE gt 5 speeds but I can tell you it was probably the best shifting car I remember..

Well for me it dissatisfied me its slow :/ when I test drove it I fell in love with it because it looks beautiful but it is kinda slow.. if youre not looking for speed get a 4.0 they look nice.. but if you want something fast get a v8 .. if I could go back in time I would of gotten a gt..
I don't mind the 3.8 I have now I do like the idea of speed.. I just have to justify spending the same for a 5 year older car....... Hmmmmm

If both your cars are stock, then there's no way that V6 should keep up with ya. Not in a straight line and not in the corners.

If your patient then you can find just about what ever you want for what ever price!.. I have a buddy who picked up a 2004 Saleen Vert with less than 20,000 miles on it. It also had thousands of dollars in additional mods into it too. He only paid just under $13,000.
I'm hoping to find and 99-04 gt with less then 70k for around 8-9k

You should not have any problem finding one for that price.
Around here there all 9-10 with like 70k except fckn convertibles but I don't want a vert

Dude you know what you want!.. So keep looking until you find it, and for a price you can afford!..
I know but I'm running into the problem of hitting 100k in miles on mine now..

Dude your car can turn over two or three times before you need to really worry about it!.. Just as long as your taking good care of it, take your time and find what you want.
I know that but trade in value..

Underpowered by today's standards, but they are 10+ years old.
+1 because if there underpowered then how underpowered are the fox body's. I own two and they got balls and there only rolling out 230 hp stock?

With $10,000 and your car you should be close enough to get a 2012 base 3.7 V6 brand new. You will not be disappointed with the miles per gallon or the performance.

Ronnie
I'm talking 10 in the end..

I say avoid v6's unless its 2011 and up.....

If its 2010 and down, GT all the way.

The new v6's are killer engines.

And will out perform pretty much and stock 2010 and below GT.

And if you keep a light foot you won't get horrible mileage in the older GT's.

I know you will be happier in the long run with the GT. most people are.

Just my .02
+1
