Want to swap to a v8 but not sure what other mods will have to be done to make the swap? Do I have to swap my transmission from a v8 as well ?

Transmission, rear end, k member, wiring harness, computer, instrument cluster. All that fun expensive stuff. In most cases its easier just to buy the car, than to do the swap. That being said, im doing my own swap whenni get the time. Already have my 4V 4.6, so itll be soon

And this isnt a one day job. Chances are, you're gonna have to pull the engine and adjust things one or two times during the install. If you've never done this before, have someone with you who has, takes alot of the guess work out of it.

i think the only reason i would wana do this is because i wouldnt have to worry about a new car and having a monthly note that way we build it and its paid off and wnt be so pissed wen it breaks lol i wana do a 4.6 3v swap what are yall guys opinions on the swap

tranmission and rearend are recommended. I don't think anyones ever tried to see how long the V6 tranny and rearend hold up.
If you did re-use the stock rearend from your V6 with a V8 you'd probably get close to 26 or 27 mpg hwy.
I think I heard someone say the transmission holds up to like 250or 275hp.
The guy with twin turbo roush V6 on youtube said his transmission broke after 650hp. I think roush used a different transmission though.

i have 4rw70 so iv read gts came wit these trannys they changed but early yrs used 4rw70 i think ima keep the 7.5 i wont beat on it till i get the 8.8 just so i can do the engine swap i wana buy frpp wire harness and ecu from ford racinig its like 1,200

As for the transmissions modular and V6 use a completely different bolt pattern (the V6 uses a sbf pattern exactly like the 302) so you will not be able to even try that..

The 4R70W trans does not break at 250hp lol it takes A LOT to kill one as long as you don't overheat it (V6 and V8 4R's have same internals just different casing which allows them to attach to the modular bolt pattern, and have a different tq converter supposedly)

Roush doesn't do anything to the transmissions

I was about to link this haha puts things into a better perspective for sure

I might as well be straight up honest with you. Do not do the swap. Just sell your car and buy the same model with a v8. By the time you're done with the swap. You would have spent enough money to buy 2 GTs.

Sometimes people don't have that option. Theres some ****ty gt's in my area but I don't have the money for them either.
Sometimes they might already have most of the parts at hand to do the swap.

Can we hit 300 n/a on a 4.2? Still looking for one havent found one yet i wrote kyoe stating i need a cam and some p/p wrk
