Just bought an 88 mustang gt vert auto unmolested engine just turned 100k if I completely restored this car to mint Factory condition with an exception of maybe a radio what could I look to bring in for money.

I looked at an appraising site they said 7700
But I would assume they are appraising it with 10-12k miles put on a year.

Right now, perfectly restored it should bring that price easy enough. Restore it, put it away in a garage in a large vacuum bag and 25-30 years from now who knows what it might bring.

I have a 1989 Triple White GT convertible that belonged to my youngest daughter. It has around 55K miles on it and it is in really good condition other than some minor cosmetics. The only mods are a K&N Ram Air CAI and Flowmaster exhaust. A few months ago I turned down a $10K offer for it, from a collector, but it has sentimental value to her family and isn't for sale at any price.

That just goes to show that if someone wants what you have bad enough, it can easily bring more than appraised or market value.

You have the anniversary edition. That's one of my favorite years of mustangs. My grandfather had one when I was a kid and I used to shift it. I think that's how my love affair with mustangs started. I would love to see pictures of that car if you have any.

I don't see why you couldn't bring 7-10k pretty easily. I have seen some fully restored with a built engine and other than factory exhaust get advertised for closer to 14k. I think it has to do a lot with the local market and waiting for the right buyer.

Mom currently working on restoring an 86 GT for mine and the wife's driving pleasure.

I too would like to see pics of the 89!

Thing about mustangs is that there are only a few that actually hold any real value. 1979 Indy Pace car edition, 1985 GT, 1986 SVO, 1992 LX convertible 7-Up edition, 1993 Cobra, 1995 Cobra R, 1996 Cobra w/ mystic paint, 2000 Cobra R. I'm sure there are a few others. your average stang is never going to be much higher than 10-12K, and that is for a VERY low milage car.

Just my .02

That's cute. But I also have turned down 12k cash and my car is a 1990 25th anniversary edition tastefully modded.. I can't believe in 20 to 30 more yrs if kept up it would be worth 25k all day.. It's not only the yr. It's the owner and documentation that ups the value of the actual car. My .02 cents

89' is the 25th ani and the actual ani cars were white with red ani decals below the moldings on the doors.

Edit.. Ok after looking for an image to show, I find the car I'm referring to that my brother had growing up, 1st stang I loved was known as a 'Carolina Special'

^ this guy molests cars! Ewww. :p

Some people will throw a fit when they see what's going to happen to the convertible.
We plan to mod the car just like my daughter wanted it, so it will be pearl white on top and hot pink on the bottom with chrome ponies, a new trunk lid minus the luggage rack and a Cobra spoiler in its place
There's more, but I don't have her list handy right now.

I have a 1986 mustang my cousin bought brand new and then sold it to me with 68,000 miles on it back in 2,000. It now has 107,000 miles on it. Looks amazing. Its been repainted, new tremec transmission but have the original and a few bolt on mods. The hardest dumbest thing I did in high school was add a cam in it. Still kills me until this day but I will never sell it. I think if it's a clean fox with low miles, just do bolt ons. If its not. Molest it. I'm planning on finding another car to molest that's not in the greatest shape.
