Not to long ago i took my stang to the ford dealer to replace the uim and had them replace spark plugs while they were at it. After I got the car back it started bogging down especially when i was giving it more gas. I notice it happens more when the AC is on and there have also been a few occasions of water pooling up under the car after it sits for a while. When the AC isn't running the sputter is less frequent. The other day I washed the car and sprayed down the engine to get some of the dust and grime off it. When driving it home after washing it the sputtering was really bad and the car was really bogging down. Could this be water in the engine or possibly water dripping down onto the exhaust manifolds? I you read all this then THANK YOU! please help!

p.s. I told all this to the ford dealer and they refuse to belive it has anything to do with water! going in for another check up on saturday!

Does not really sound like water in the engine its self. Could be water in a harness or something somewhere but I would kind of doubt that too... The water pooling up is probably just condensation off the ac. It could be a ton of different things. And the reason it does it more with the ac on, is because the ac puts more of a load on the engine. And what the fuh is a uim?

Sounds like maybe a cracked intake manifold.

Could be a freeze plug.

Do u mean the upper manifold,,if so they may not have seal it right or maybe cracked..If you have coil over plugs,,you could have water down in the spark plug holes,, if you wash the engine,,if so you have to remove the coils to blow out the water ,,Listen for a possible intake leak or vacuum leak,,that could cause that problem too

Upper intake manifold and it looks like that's the issue. I just has it replaced and the three bolts on the left side by the water crossover pype are very loose. I'm gonna have the Ford dealership tighten em up!

It was actually nothing involving water, air, or the intake manifold. It was actually a part of the alternator going bad sending out a frequency that threw off the cam positioning sensor. This created a miss fire in the engine because the cams were confused on where they were supposed to be. Never even crossed the dark corners of my mind but when they unpluged the alternator it stopped and the code went away!
