This has been happening for awhile now but when ever im on the high way or doing about 40 ill gas it and it just revs really high and does nothing. But i also took my exhaust off from the cat back (which actually sounds really good) but could that be my tranni slipping or what.

Definitely sounds like your tranny is slipping, something you'd wanna fix asap. Could be the clutch not engaging so the bearing might be bad, your clutch cable might not be taught, or it could be your gears not engaging.
