I'll be honest with you, it all depends on what you are wanting it to be able to do. If you're wanting a good equalizer set up, pioneer is the most user friendly, alpine has the best set up with it, just takes a little getting used to. Sony has some good stuff out there, have installed several of their cd players. My only problem with sony is the fact that some of their products have downgraded to cheeper versions, then again, who hasn't. Pioneer can downgrade with the best of them. I say, anything over a 6400 pioneer would be good, anything from sony that isn't sold at wal mart and any alpine period would get the job done. I'm a pioneer person myself and if I had to choose would go with the pioneer premier 740mp. Just my opinion on the subject and you asked for it, so there ya go.
