I thought that California was a Hot Rod state.

Hi Adamp1,
I thought that your state was a Custom car utopia. It seems that a lot of aftermarket parts manufacturers are in California.

I love what you said:
Not much on my car yet since California is filled with Hippies who think HEADERS and a CAI is bad for the air and people but driving a car filled with bong smoke and a medical marijuana card isn't.
Most of the custom car builders are in California and I'm sure they probably don't have any problems getting cars inspected or do they just ship them to Nevada to get tagged?

I'm sure happy I live in Florida. We don't even have car inspection here in my county.

In CA, anything is illegal unless submitted to the CA DoT for approval. It cost manufacturers money and the part is "expendable" and cannot be returned. Very few parts are submitted for this and are thus illegal in CA.

Yes +1 ^. We do have alot of manufacturers of parts and do custom work but performance parts are more expensive if they are dot approval

It's only illegal if you get caught. A foul ain't a foul unless the referee blows the whistle. Lol

Thanks ronnie. I get more and more frustrated about our emission laws. Dont get me wrong, its an awesome state but their priorities are not right.

CA is a utopia for aftermarket parts but its one of those "you can look but cant touch" until they so.

I love the fake gas cap. Saw a 65 the other day where the guy took the gas cap off filled it in and you filled up by opening the trunk. Looked like crap and is a stupid idea.

Love unique 3.7 w/305 HP and 29mpg

I don't even know if I want a Boss 302 now

I know it sounds strange but I really love this 3.7 V6 automatic. I named my car "BOSS 3.7" and after me pulling away from a 2001 SVT Cobra he lives up to his name.

I'll explain,
On the National Parts Depot cruise from Ocala Florida up to Cedar Key one of the cars about ten in front of me stopped to let a dump truck and a few cars out of a jiffy store parking lot. I don't know why because we did have a Police escort and it was a very stupid thing to do. The Dump truck held steady at about 35MPH. A few Mustangs in front of me got to pass everything. When my turn to pass the road was clear as far as you could see so I pulled out and floored it passing about 15 cars and the dump truck. The Cobra in back of me did the same but I really pulled away from him pretty bad. After getting passed the Dump truck I slowed down to about 80 and hoped to catch up to our convoy of Mustangs and Fords. (Finely did in a few miles) I pulled into Cedar Key and parked. A guy came running up to me asking if my car was a modified Boss 302. He was the SVT Cobra owner and did not believe me when I told him my Mustang was a V6. I actually had to pop the hood and show him. I also showed him I had an Automatic Transmission. He said His car was a V8 at 330 Horsepower and he had it floored and I pulled away from him bad.

I'm thinking he did not go down enough gears at the start of passing and when I got going he could not close it up. That is me just guessing but I was sure not going to tell him that. As far as I'm concerned I outran a Cobra.:lmao:

Now I can call my car "Boss 3.7" and feel good about my car's name.

Matches my side stripe just perfect.
