New to the moding cars. Finally got my first stang after a long awaited amount of years and i want to know what upgrades are needed before slapping one on it. So far I have just a cai and a tune but looking for many more upgrades such as atak exhaust headers etc. And just want to know a good order in which to do them. Also what is necessary and what is a waste of money in your opinion. Thanks !!

What year is your Mustang????

If it is a 2013 OK, but if it is a 11 or 12 the first thing to think of is replacing the drive shaft if you are going to run hard and often.

As far as a procharger all you need is a whole bunch of $$$$$$$ and find a shop capable of doing the install properly.

Go to American Muscle and look at their project cars and how they started with the Mod's and how they finished in order of installations.

New clutch and flywheel. I would do the DS too just to be safe regardless of year and a dyno tune. I have installed them on 4.6L motors before and it is a lot of work but nothing I wasnt capable or concerned about doing. The big thing is getting it tuned. The others wont need to be done right away but that said I would not hammer it until you did.

According to prochager... Their system is designed to bolt up to a completely stock 2011-2012 3.7L... I would second the aluminum drive shaft upgrade as well. Most shops will charge about $1000 to install and a few hundred more to dyno tune with the price of the procharger you will need about $6500 give or take a few hundred. At 8psi you would be looking at about 500 HP at the crank that would be on a completely stock 3.7L with no upgrades. Or you could just upgrade to the 5.0 and put full bolt on from intake to exhaust and you would get about 500 HP with the V8 and add another 150 HP later with a supercharger if you want it. Either way you go... Good luck with it

+1... You could do the install yourself if you have tools, a friend and patience. It's not an easy task but all the parts are "bolt on". There are also good instructions with the pro charger rigs... Tune is key to even getting the car to start... If you don't have an exhaust before install your going to need one to see the full potential of your setup.

Also wanted to add that you would probubly beat a 5.0 with bolt on's. your charger will make you rev faster and thus improve acceleration. You may make the same HP but there is allot more to going fast than just that.
