What is the stock rear size that came with the 1979 mercury capri or 1979 ford mustang v8s?

i have a 1979 mercury capri with the v8 rear end in that im gutting bc the frame is terribly rusted, i want to know the size of it, if its an 8 or 8.8. i would like to try and use the gears in it for my mustang ii im restoring, also if anyone could tell me the gear ratio it possibly comes stock with in the v8 model(unless some are different then others). i am having no luck finding it online =/

I think the Turbo and V8 1979 Mustang/Capri had an 8.8.
The N/A 2.3, 2.8V6, and 3.3L6 should have a 7.5

I'm not sure about that though....I've never had one that old. My friend had an '80 Fairmont Futura Turbo Coupe though and I'm pretty certain it was an 8.8

I don't know about fitting a 4 link 8.8 in a Pinto chassis. I've never seen it done. Usually they'll use a Maverick 8 rear.

I'm pretty sure all of the 79's had 7.5" rears.
