Ive read that the tiburon has about 175 - 180 hp and the mustang has about 170 hp.

How many miles on each car? The Mustang may have 170 hp but if the engine has 200k on it then its lost some horse power the same with the Tiburon. My guess is they will be fairly close and it will mostly depend on the driver.

If the Mustang is in good working order it should win. It's lighter than the Tib, it has more HP (175 vs. 172), than the tib, and it has a sizable torque advantage. It's also rear wheel drive, so it'll probably get a better launch.

This would be a pretty good race to see. The tibi wouldnt get off the line as fast but just might catch it in the long run because of the 6th gear. In my opinion it would be a good quarter mile race.

Well, if its a 5.0 mustang, its much faster than a tiburon.... but if its a turbo SVO mustang then the tib will be faster....

To be honest they are both slower than a fat man running backwards but the Mustang should be a tiny bit faster.
