Hello everyone, got some extra change in my pocket and I wanna drop it in my stang. I want y'all's opinions on the best cams and intake manifold for a 2002 2v.

I'm not totally knowledgeable on the 2v modular motors, but I think the difference between the street burner vs the track heat is that the track heat is geared more towards top end power that would benefit you at the track. I think it sacrifices a decent amount of low end power but gains a lot at the top of the tach. This is also usually better if you have a blower to take advantage of the boost at high RPMs. Street burner is definitely the way to go if yours is gonna be on the street most of the time, esp since you aren't running at WOT and 5000+ rpms all the time like you would be at a drag strip. Street burner will give you more low end power and still have some decent gains over the stock intake at the upper RPMs.

But the TFS intake is a good intake. You could also probably find a Bullitt intake that would be less expensive and still be much better than the stock intake.

This. The Track Heat is designed for high revving power because that's where you always are at the track.

I am a noob when it comes to intake manifolds. Is this a mod that you do when you are close to maxxed? Is it worth it when naving simple bolt ons? I just know this will benefit people running nitrous as these manifolds prevent puddling.

Will it affect future mkds as in sc etc...?

Of course you'll need new beehive springs and such with the cams if you go higher duration like 275.
You also said best, not cheap. :)

You'll see some gains over the stock intake regardless if you have full boltons or completely stock, but the more mods you have the bigger the inrease over what you could achieve with the stock inake. It's always easy to think of a motor as an air pump, the more air you can get in there more power you will make.

I agree with Slow4V, AFM cams are seriously good quality.

Don't worry, TrickFlow likes to hide their prices because technically they don't "directly" sell from the site unless you call them and ask to order. That and the fact that it's expensive.

CMS or Hitech has the better results. But any are good that have been mentioned are good. I've done a lot of research on cams and Hitech stage 2 cams got the best results on a simple bolt on Stang on stock valve springs. CMS had the better loping sound at idle out of them all.

I read that comps are very good also but you better get them degreed very well or you will have ptv issues. I read they are the harder ones to get degreed just right. But there is more people that go with comp so ultimately you will hear more about it. Also no matter what comps need new valve springs on any stage.
