Which? they vary from model to model and for different engines..and any where from 10 to 26..

A 302 V8 in good running condition should get around 14 to 16 mpg. Most engines by this time were de-tuned because of smog regulations. So depending on the engine, we had a 73 Gran Torino with a 400 2bbl auto and got about 14 to 16 on that. Just really depends on your foot too.

It won't help you with a 1973, but check out fueleconomy.gov for mileage ratings for every car since 1985.
