Im just wondering how many parts are interchangable between the 5.0 302 and the older 302. i have a jeep with a 302 and theres a decent amount of parts id like to swap onto my mustang such as carb valve covers etc. i know the carb fits but do the valve covers? And are the rings the same for them bc i need some new ones soon for the non 5.0 and my friend has rings from his mustang new but doesnt need em and he said i can have em for free if they fit. and theyre for stock bore which this is. thanks in advance

I think cam, lifters and push rods. Also the water pump. 5.0 mustangs had roller cams and a reverse rotation water pump. I believe everything else will interchange. And I think yes the rings will fit just check with the machine shop.

They are both 5.0/302 engines. The difference is that the Mustang engines are H.O or High Output 5.0/302's.
The main differences are the reverse water pump, roller cam & lifters and most H.O. 5.0/302's had forged pistons, with the exception of the 93's I believe.
The rings may or may not fit. It will depend on the piston and bore size of your engine along with the ring groove size in the pistons. All other external parts should physically fit.
