Hey guys. I've been looking at getting my wheels powder coated black. I've found a shop that my buddy referred they painted his bike but he has sent him alot of business and said he would give us a deal if him and I get ours done at the same time. We are looking at around 175-200$ for all four wheels. Does that sound like a good deal to y'all or is that pretty average?

That's an outstanding price! Depending on the size of the wheel, and what is presently on the wheel, most places get an average of 75.00 per wheel, for wheels under 18 inch. At less than 55.00 per wheel its a steal. I got mine done, and they came out great.

Sweet. Nice to save a little money. I've been wanting to buy the black bullitts but at the moment I'm trying to add as many performance parts to my car as I can and I like the style of wheels I have just not a fan if chrome. They are 17s I believe. I can't wait to get it done. I'm getting them painted matte black.

You might want to look at Satin black, which has a close appearance to flat, but easier to stay clean.
Only bad thing I've noticed about black wheels is that if your tires aren't clean they look terrible. It bugs me on my car so much

Only reason I was gonna do matte black was because he said he could cut us a better deal if we do the same color and my buddy wants matte black and he is the one that got us the hook up

Can't look any dirtier than the chrome wheels that came on it though. They are almost black from brake dust. I can't keep that junk off of them to save my life

I've seen that plasti dip up close in person, and personally I think it looks like crap, now that I've seen it up close. It's my opinion for my own car only, not trying to offend anyone, but I do not like it's look in person. I realize not everyone has the money to spend for powder coating, but you get your money's worth when you find a reputable shop.

Make sure you take it to a reputable place.

Ive played around with several shops and some were cheaper than others, which
is always more attractive, but they never stripped the wheel to the bare metal
and the coating came off easier.
The cost of mounting , dismounting and repowdercoating is far more than paying a few bucks to someone with a good record and explains the process properly and stands behind their work.

I know the guy personally that is gonna be doing the powder coating. Use to hangout with him back in college and he powder coated my buddies entire cbr1000 frame wheels and body. And it looks great. He is just giving us a good deal because of business that was brought to him from my other buddy.
