Technically it depends on what motor you have. If it's a Big Block 390, 428, or 427 then the other car must have the big block front end. A big block front end will have more room via shock tower removal. If it's a small block 289, 302, 351, then it will fit in either one.

They didn't make a 1966 Mustang with a 390ci engine. They did put that engine in 1967 Mustand and Cougar. It will fit, but need a good 1967 donor car for all the parts!
