I have a 1982 ford mustang gt and I have the stock tail lights and they are ugly I would like to upgrade with newer tail lights from a 1988 mustang will they fit my car any info or pics

yes, you can upgrade, the 84-86..SVO look the best..they were used in the later Cobra..
