Window Adjustment Issue

2849 Views 6 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  scottydsntknow
I’m not sure what to do or even who to get help from. I’ve tried all four adjust bolts on my passenger door window. It goes up to high where it meets up with the quarter glass and not high enough in the front. As a result I get leaks at the front of door where it hits the windshield and then at my quarter glass because it doesn’t hit the weatherstripping enough. It drives me nuts because the drivers side goes up beautifully and both windows are perfectly even up top. I’ve got my quarter glass tilted as far as it can towards the door but the door window is clearly the bad one. Any suggestions on how to correct this or who’s the best place to take it to? Body shop, window replacement company?

Pull the door panel off and check to see if the brackets that are glued to the window have failed. Happened to my coupe and only fix is a new window with the new style 1 piece bracket. Sucks if that's the case but it is what it is.
I’ve got the panel off but not sure where to look. Very limited access points to view. They really sealed this sucker in.

Can you help me identify what this part is called? I’m ready to buy a new window but it’s missing two parts my old one has. I want to replace the whole thing and not worry about the old pieces breaking or already bad once I take it out. We’re getting into our rain season here so my replacement job needs to be all at once or nothing. With a convertible I don’t exactly have a top window frame to wrap plastic over in case it rains. Right now it’s already not sealed because of this and I don’t need to make it worse. I circled the one missing part but I think both the front and back are probably the same thing.

Yeah that's a catch that slides into a slot on the door itself. You need that and it should have been on your window. The black track is what USUALLY comes off the window tho. On the original pieces its 3 brackets glued on the window. 1 stop, 1 pivot point and 1 that is both. The stop and the rear "both" bracket get put under at on of levered pressure every time they hit the stops in the door, eventually the glue fails and you get the window issues. This has happened to every single SN95 I've had requiring window replacement.

For that piece you have missing, head to your nearest JY, pull a door panel and it should be in there even if the door glass was busted up already. Or post a want ad on a FB classified group or forum glassified group.
What the part name?
