They are a tiny bit smaller I believe. I went from 245/45R17 all seasons to my 255/40R17 summer tires and they looked to be 1-2mm shorter overall. I don't really have good pictures to show the difference though.
Worried about lowering
I'm looking at Sumitomo tires 255/40R17. Currently I have stock size 245/45R17. Can I expect lowering if I use these tires? AM website shows recommended rim size for these tires as 17x9 which is the stock size. I have to drive daily over military gate anti terrorism devices so my car can't go any lower. It already rubs if I go to fast.

Ok. Thanks. Car is already lowered on Eibach springs which is what is causing the the rubbing. Just not wanting to make it worse.
