Looks like a protector for the fuel tank.

 

The fuel tank is further up near the over-axle pipes.

Not sure what that is right off hand, grab the service manual and look it up.

 

That was my initial thought when I fist got under it, but it has a few wires going into it. It seems like it can be removed...just want to get some feedback before I do it lol

It is part of the Evap system for the fuel system. Whether or not it can be removed I don't know. Why not take it off, and build a new cover into your defuser?

That's what I was thinking. I would definitely try to incorporate a cover for this into the diffuser design.

The diffuser would be covering it, running from the middle portion to into my GT/CS diffuser. After I see how this one works, I might build it bigger. My gates are already pretty big, though lol.

It's the evap system. Needed for emissions unless you have a tuner that knows how to change all the stuff in your tune

 

evap system. we have saddle back tanks so it's not those.
