Does anyone have a strut tower brace that will fit over our supercharger? Does anyone have pictures. I can't seem to find much that will fit over the supercharger.

Thanks

OEM 2007-2009 GT500 strut tower brace fits perfectly and is installed on my car. No pics still but working on it.

$150 on ebay and is an OEM Ford part. Comes only in black but you can dress it up like I did and order an accent colored (Red for me) "Roushcharged" decal from Roush and put it dead center on the brace. Just a suggestion

Thanks for the info Camron. I will look into the GT500 brace. Today I pulled my PCM and shipped it back to Roush for the re-flash. Working on getting the CAI ready now.
Thanks for your help

Yes, I have the 07-09 GT500 strut tower brace on my car. The brace fits, it clears the blower, and it clears the hood. It also looks great and made a difference in front end chassis rigidity.

Hey Camron

Do you have the strut tower brace that American Muscle shows on their web site..It says it is for 07-09 GT500, is black with Ford Racing Logo imprinted on it List price $229

No, I think that one is too big and won't clear the hood. The link below is the one I have. It looks kind of bland on its own in the photos but it actually fits and looks perfect, especially with the addition of the "Roushcharged" decal which really makes it stand out.

2007 2008 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 GT 500 Strut Tower Brace | eBay

Hi Camron

I got the GT500 strut tower brace in the mail today. It is marked on the box part number 7R3Z-16A200-B.. Bad News for me. I have the Roush CAI on my car (can't tell if that is what you have) and the strut brace is laying right on the CAI and still is not down flush on the tower bolts. I could probably tighten it down and force the CAI tube to give but I don't think I want to do that. Do you have the Roush CAI tube and did you run into this problem.

Thanks

Hi Camron

I emailed the seller about the link you have posted for $149.99 He did not think it would fit my 2013 Roush RS3. He said he did not think so and said it would fit the 07 08 09. Are you pretty sure this is the one that you have. Your car looks like a 2013 and are you pretty sure this is the one you have.. Also, where did you get the Roushcharged decal you mentioned

Thanks for taking the time for my questions

Yes, I am sure that is the one. I actually got a great deal on it from EBAY for $109. It is an OEM part and even at $149 it's a good deal. My car is a 2013 RS3 and the photos are attached. I got the "roushcharged" decal directly from roushperformance.com.

Thanks Camron

After looking at the pictures I am sold. I ordered the strut tower brace shortly after looking at your pictures. I have not gone to the Roush site yet to look for the decal. Is it the decals that are on our hood.

Thanks again

I have the Roush CAI on mine and it rests right up against the intake tube. I didn't have to force mine at all to install so try to adjust the positioning of the intake tube. Even if you have to put a little bit of downward pressure on the intake tube I really don't think it will hurt anything. Mine installed easily. Good luck.

I haven't gotten around to drop mine in just yet but if there is too much resistance on my stock Roush intake, I may pass on it and either hang on to the bar for a future gig or sell it. You guys need to keep in mind that the components move around with every rev increase, road condition, etc. You'll need to "feel" the resistance and judge for yourself. The long block vibrates and with the blower it should vibrate significantly. I'll let to guys know how mine ends up. I'll probably get around to it in a few weekends. GL Scotty!

I agree..I finished installing mine and there is enough pressure on the CAI tube to make a indentation on the tube. I am going to run it by my good mechanic friend and ask his opinion. Right now I am leaning towards taking it back off. I will let you know tomorrow.

Hi Guys

I talked to my mechanic.(I really trust him as he does all kinds of high performance work). He thought that it would be ok as long as it barely touches. He pushed on it and made it give a little and said that is the most that will happen. So I shimmed it with a couple little washers that do not show and installed the brace and torqued it to 26 Ft pounds.
I will keep my eye on it and re-torque. Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

You're not supposed to put washers under the brace. I would never do that. The brace needs to sit right in on the struts. You should ditch it if you need to do that. Those nuts are also holding your struts don't forget. There shouldn't be any gaps within the brace and the torque. You should also torque the nuts with w40 sprayed on them within the threads and the nuts itself so they torque with force. All of this knowledge is through my years of conversations with racing shops for my BMW M cars and my previous cobras and stangs. Stay safe!

I think you have helped me make up my mind. I am going to take it off tomorrow morning. I don't want to be driving around thinking and worrying about it. I also don't want to damage my 625 HP Roush CAI..

I too think the washers are a bad idea but at the same time the brace touching the intake tube is not a big deal as your mechanic told you. I personally think you are a little over protective and the little bit of flex from the motor is not going to be a problem. Mine has been on for 2000 miles and no sign of any wear from the motor flexing. There may be other strut tower braces out there but all are larger and I highly doubt they will clear the stock hood. That is the issue we have because the GT500 hood has more clearance. You will most likely just have to go without a brace if you decide to take it off.

this one here says it will fit 2011 + with a TVS supercharger. That is the case of all 2011+ Roush SR3's
check this one:
555-5726-WHP-3.4 - Billet Strut Tower Brace
The one I have (GT500 07,08,09) will fit our new STOCK Roush as INTHEMIX reported above. The problem I have is I upgraded to the Roush 625 HP CAI tube which is slightly larger. I agree with Camron and my mechanic that a little bit of flex probably would not hurt anything but I want to play it on the safe side and have decided to take it off for now.

I have taken the strut tower brace off and it is FOR SALE. It is a 2007,08, 09 GT500 brace that I bought one week ago for $149.99. It will fit the 12, 13, 14 Roush supercharged cars with the stock intake. My car has the Roush CAI kit which has a slightly larger intake tube and it is slightly touching is the reason I am selling. I want $100 for it and I will split shipping to your door. The brace was put on the car and then taken off without driving. I also added the "Roushcharged decal" to the brace when i bought it. Please reply to my regular email "gscotty2918@gmail.com"

So sorry to dig up an old thread, but I can't find much on this topic.

I've got a 14 Stage 3. I've tried the GT500 Brace, the Supersnake brace, and the Ford Racing Bullitt style brace. The Bullitt brace I really like, but won't fit over the blower.

The GT500, and Supersnake braces fit over the blower, but the hood vents hit the brace and won't allow the hood to close by about 1/2"... So I don't know how you guys are using the GT500 brace??

The only one I haven't tried is the Boss 302 brace... I'm thinking about making some vents that are flush with the hood, and don't protrude into the space below...

I have a 2012 stage 3 with the JLT big air intake. After reading several threads a few years ago trying to see what would fit, I ended buying a 2007-2009 GT500 KR strut tower brace because others had said it would fit.

Looks like it may be discontinued?!?

I found mine on ebay for like $100 2 years ago. This brace clears the SC and the CAI, but oddly enough it was preventing the passenger side of the hood from closing completely (was raised about 1/8"). I had my service guy cut a channel in the under hood support beneath the hood blanket and it now fits perfectly. Others claimed it fit without issue and I had expected any fitment issues to be on the drivers side, so not sure if my issue was unique to my car. I put the soft side of some adhesive 3m Velcro on the bottom of the STB on the CAI side because I notice when the engine moves under load it was coming into contact with my CAI.

Wish I'd just kept my 12 GT. I like the styling of the front end and hood much better than the GT500 look on the 13-14s... And honestly, the Roush is fast (and exclusive), but I really don't see the $30,000 difference between it and my GT. The GT was quick, light, and nimble...

Yeah, I got the GT500KR brace too. Like how beefy it is, but it's really heavy.

It's the hood vents that are the problem with my hood. I don't understand how some guys are using the GT500 brace with the 13-14 GT hood and saying it works fine.
