I know what you mean. I haven't even got mine yet and it's eating me up. I'll probably be in the same boat you are. No time. Did you buy lash adjusters?

No. I'm winging it with the bare minimal.

Replacing my ticking lash adjusters is the way I justified spending all this money on cams and everything else to the girlfriend. Might as well replace it while I'm in there!

Buddy has this tool, but loaned it out and has since went missing. I just ordered another one. Should save hours of work.

Are you not going to take off the timing cover?

This tool makes it so you don't have too. My buddy had his hi tech cams installed in his Mustang in an afternoon by his brother. Mine will take a little longer since I'm also doing springs. Bought the air valve spring holder too also. Next weekend will be the day we hopefully do the install.

I just figured you would take the cover off to inspect your chains and tensioners. And for the fact that it's easy for the tool to slip and allow the chain to skip a tooth.

My buddy who used the tool has had his cams in his 01 GT for almost 6 years now and 50k miles. 20k of them making 500hp with 9psi of boost. No problems.

Also one thing to remember. Ford bases the right and left cyl head as sitting in the drivers seat.

Well my buddy found his cam gear holder tool. I'm currently talking with another buddy in letting me use a bay in his shop possible tomorrow or Friday afternoon to get these cams installed.

My holder should be here tomorrow. Just in case.

3hrs to do one head for springs. Last valve I lost one keeper in the engine bay. Robbing parts off a parts motor the shop has. Don't even have the one came installed yet.

Man that sucks. Just be patient and take your time. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

Cam bolts are different. Stock ones won't work. Just a heads up slater.

Hydro boost has to be completely moved to get drive valve cover off.

I was afraid of that. I heard the valve cover can come off if you're patient. But I only found members that didn't have hydroboost saying it could be done.
