Okay I have a question about the drive cycle in my 14 GT as it relates to the 8 readiness monitors.
I recently had a dead battery and had to have it replaced. Then my car was shipped to the great state of California. I'm no virgin to Cali smog (as I have been given the smog fail right in the arse more than once in my life). I knew my car would need to complete the monitors to pass. So I drove the car about 5-6 days about 300 miles.
Took it to a smog shop...fail. 2 readiness monitors not complete. The oxygen sensor and oxygen sensor heat.
So I drove some more. Another 2 days. Plugged up my PLX Kiwi wifi OBD II...still not ready. I noticed I had a stored code, it was an ABS POWER FAILURE. I read on some sites that if there was a stored code it may keep the computer from completing the readiness monitors. So reluctantly I cleared the codes and had to start the refined monitors all over again.
I followed a ford OBD II drive cycle I found online. This got me right back to 6/8 monitors completed in less than 30 min. Still the same 2 were not complete. Keep in mind there was no cold start this day as the car was already driven earlier.
So now I have once again driven the car everyday. I have clocked 2 tanks of gas, ~650 miles over about 5 days. Still monitors mentioned above are a no go.
So seriously what the heck? It should not take this dang long. Has anyone had this issue? Or does anyone here know exactly what the computer is looking for to complete this monitor? My car has no tune, never has. I have never had a check engine light. I currently have no codes pending.
