I replaced my Mach 460 speakers in my 2002 GT this week, and in order to replace the rear subwoofer box speakers, you need to remove the rear package tray carpet panel. To do that, you first need to remove the rear seat headrest panel, and two of the 3 lower clips (the ones the bolts go through) broke off of it, so now there is only one remaining clip on the entire piece (there's apparently supposed to be three clips on the top of the rear, but those were already broken off - that explains why the top has always felt loose).
As I don't really see any way of repairing this part (and, it's long since been obsolete from Ford), I'm looking for a good condition replacement, and have found a couple on eBay. My question is: does anyone know if this part is the same for all Mustang coupe models, from '99-'04, including the Cobra? Mine has a soft covering (Dark Charcoal) over foam, and apparently at some point Ford changed to an all hard plastic piece, but I'm OK with replacing mine with an all plastic one, as long as it fits. Anyone have any info/knowledge about this part? Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!
