I would suggest Hertz and nothing else. I will never use anything different. their basic model is Still 5x better than Anything I've heard! i have 2-6x9 and 2-6 1/2 and i need more bass! i have 2 Fosgate 12" p3's!

the thing is, you want subs that match the speaker. Like, if you have a 10 inch sub thats putting out 200-400 watts of power, 2 door speakers or 2 rear speakers will do just fine. the 10 in. sub will take the "higher" low frequencies, so you'd want speakers maybe with tweeters built in (coaxial) and run an amp to them for the best sound. BUT if you have 2 12" subs running 400 a piece, and your looking for loud, you should run High quality speakers to a 4 channel amp, and make them High Pass speakers. that way your subs take all the bass and your speakers only need to worry about bringing out high frequency sound. That gets Really loud to.

they have different sizes but the Easiest to get a hold of are 6 1/2 inch door and 6x9 in Rear. I have a catalog i can send you if your Seriously thinking about getting them. don't want to ship it for nothing.. but if you got aftermarket speakers that are Worth something. (not walmart specials or something that isn't very high quality) than yea you Should run an amp. you don't ever Have to run an amp. it just helps the speakers sound and it runs smoother. it makes it so that your deck isn't working so hard to push power to the speakers with its internal amp. assuming it has one. which almost all do. it also depends on how big the internal amp is. if you get a new deck, it Should tell you

Theoretically you only need 2 high quality speakers in front and then subs.. Think about it. You never go to a concert where the speakers are at your back! always facing you! And an amp depends on what speakers you have. High quality speakers, you could get a 400x4 channel amp so you have 100w to each speaker or if only 2 speakers, 200w. all depends on your speakers...and btw. It sounds PHENOMENALLY better having an external amp push your speakers instead of a deck amp

Amps for speaker only make them sound more louder
More louder? wow... and no it doesn't just do that! it makes them sound Cleaner, Work easier, And Sound louder than a deck amp. with a separate amp your using the Speakers full potential whereas with a deck amp, your limited to what the amp can push. usually not much..
