05 bogging down acceleration

I just picked up an 05 gt. As far as I can tell and believe from the seller, it has ford racing intake and throttle body, roush Cai, different injectors and an engraved Bama placard in the engine bay. I assume it has a tune and the seller thinks he has the tuner at his other place for me. Fingers crossed. It runs perfect at 1/8 throttle. Pretty good 1/2 to full. But if I pull out quickly with 1/4 throttle it goes, bogs down for about a full second then then jumps. Or 1/4 throttle up a long hill it just won't accelerate until a bit more throttle is applied then goes good. Any ideas before I get the tuner and talk to Bama? I can track some info on the Torque app.

Once you get the tuner find out what tuning company it has. Then do some data logging for the provider. So they can send you revisions.
That's where I'd start.

Possibly. I don't plan on having Bama tunes so I haven't researched their rules. You can call them tomorrow and get a legitimate answer from a rep.

I took a look at a few things tonight for this bog issue. Throttle body looked great but I'm sure can be better. Moves very freely. I pulled out the maf but never saw one like that before so I didn't know what to clean but nothing looked dirty. I then started the car. Small blips after a couple minutes and hesitate and even a little pops. I pulled the maf plug and car almost stalled then right back up. Still bog but idle would drop right to 1000 instead of hang. CEL came on. Took car for a ride. Much less hesitation. But the most noticeable part was the transmission seemed to shift much better especially quicker down shifts. Would the maf affect shifting? Can I clean this or just get a new one. Can I drive without plugged in? It would be awesome if this is as easy as a maf. Also can I use a factory maf with all the mods done.

It does have a roush Cai with an oiled filter. I can't notice an oil film but assume it doesn't take much. I was just shocked how much better the transmission felt. I certainly didn't expect that or to make sense of it. It didn't run perfect but much better.

I only pulled out from a stop one time during the test drive to notice the bog. He is on vacation and CLAIM to get me the tuner Monday. I will try some data logging like the LTFT and others. I cleaned the maf and reset the memory and no better. And the more I tested it bogs about the same with it unplugged. It also shuts down around 5000 with it unplugged. The only real difference unplugged is the transmission shifts much quicker and down shifts much quicker so it felt like it bogged less.
