So as i'm sure a lot of you are aware that our midpipes are a hybrid of an x and an h pipe. Well im wondering if anyones chopped up their stock pipe and converted it to off-road or welded in some high flow cats, curious to know what it would sound like and what the difference in gains would be between that and aftermarket. Anyone?

I have the FRPP cut and clamp X-Pipe on mine, smoothed out the sound and made it a bit deeper. As for cutting out the cats, I like my money so they will stay on my car and OEM to save the fine for breaking Federal law and removing them or even replacing them.

Yea but those still arent similar to the stock h/x. My buddy has an x-pipe and the sounds not for me(he is catless tho) Just curious if anyones gotten crafty with the stock set-up. Aka replacing stock cats with high flow cats or just removed them entirely without changing the hybrid mid-pipe. Know'm sayin?

The part that really helps for the noise on the stock mid pipe is the resonators. Get rid of them and that is where the raspiness starts.
