I was waxing my car today and noticed the dreaded paint bubbling up on my hood!
When I bought my car it came wit Tires for life, wheel coverage, which is if I have a tire blow out or run over something and it breaks my wheels, the dealer replaces the wheel at no cost to me. I also have that if I get any door dings or scratches, the dealer fixes it at no cost to me! So I'm taking it in tomorrow to check out the hood. See what kind of dealer I'm dealing with! The way I see it the paint bubbles are the same as dings or scratches!! And according to my contract it's good till July of 2017. My car is a 2012 GT premium package! I'll let you know how it goes!!

Still would be fixed under the bumper to bumper warranty regardless, pending approval obviously.

There is a class action suit against Ford for Mustang hood rust/bubbles going in NJ as I write. Let us hope Ford will have to pay for it and then other states can join in on it and get our due. The problem started in the 2005 model year and has continued.

That's what yours will look like if you let the corrosion continue under the paint. If you scrape off the little bubbles that you have now, the corrosion will stop. It can only occur under the paint without air. It had some on the underside of the hood and scrapped them off before they spread to the top side. They have not grown for over 6 months now. I will touch the bare spots up soon and be done with it. Aluminum does not corrode when exposed to air because it develops a impervious film that prevents further oxidation.

Yea... I went by yesterday and they looked at it and said its out of warranty but they will fix it for $300. They said its to help people who are out of warranty and they are helping them out for that price! They normally charge $800.. That's a bunch of bull crap. It's a problem ford has with these cars and want to charge people $800. Than say they'll cut you a deal at $300! I'm not done yet! This will get fixed !! At there cost!

Ford told me they couldn't fix because it wasn't perforated. It would take 20 yrs for it to have holes in it. Doesn't make sense they would let it go that far before fixing. I was pass the original 60k warranty. But was still within the 5yr for body corrosion. Dealer said they could repaint for $700 haven't had the money for it. Just had to put new tires on for the summer. It will unfortunately have to wait. I guess ford doesn't mind having there cars displayed this way or this would be a manufacture recall. It's been known about for years and it's not just mustangs.
