What is the deal with M-5220-MB

So does anyone have any details on the reason behind the disappearance of the Boss Side (Quad) Exhaust kit M-5220-MB for the 2011-2014 GT?

Why are the 2005-2010 GT & the GT500 versions still available? Was there a problem with it and the 302 engine? Seems weird that only the one kit was discontinued and not all of them.

I heard rumors that a replacement is supposed to be coming soon. Has anyone heard any details? I would like to add this to my car. But right now the only way I have found is to get it is to either find someone selling it used or buy it part by part from a Ford Racing parts house (kinda like building your own kit). And that will cost you nearly $950 + shipping, if you are lucky.

Love to hear it if you know anything...

Winner!

It was really more than I wanted to pay, but I do not think I could get one otherwise. Tried the piece by piece method and best I could find was going to be about $950 shipped. So I think $831 is a fair price...

Now for cutouts!

Here is what are the going rates at Tasca tonight. Them and AutoNation have the lowest prices I have seen... The piece by piece method of building the kit looks like it will be $962 and shipping. I feel very lucky.:thumb:

It is here. Looks to be all there and new, just like advertized. Added the GT Track Key and QTP Cutouts with the wireless key fobs... Now to get them installed.

I pulled the power for the cut outs from the power outlet in the center console. Replace the fuse holder for the cut outs with a higher quality Bakelite one. Mine came with a thin white plastic one that the spring inside pushed the ends apart. There are 1/2" holes covered by some tape next to each fuel pump access under the back seat that I ran the cut out wiring through.
Good luck and have fun.

Well its all in. Took the car in to get the GT Track Key installed. Since I do not have access to a lift I decided to have the dealer put on the pipes and the QTP cutouts at the same time. I added the wireless option to the cutouts to prevent having to punch a hole somewhere to mount switch. Was not real crazy about having to take things apart to install the switch. They did an awesome job putting it all together. Now I can just play!

So far the combo is fantastic. Love the loppy idle! Pipes sound very nice with my Roush Axle Backs.

Just got it install Thursday and have not put too many miles on it yet. But, there is an immediate change in the responsivness of the car. Feels quicker and loppy idle is fun! I am very satified with the change over the Stock tune. Picked mine up from AutoNation. Once was Toulsey Ford. They are in White Bear Lake Minnesota. Ordered over the phone so I could ask a few questions before ordering. So far that have been great to deal with. Great price as well! My local dealer that I purchased my car from was more than happy to install. But others required me to order the key from them or they would not touch it.. Check this out before you buy.

Well worth it!

The engine braking is extremely fun on tight windy roads in third gear. Enjoy!
