Yes, K & N uses a Air Filter Oil (Step 2). It comes in a 6.5oz aerosol can that you spray on the after the filter has been thoroughly cleanse (rinsed) and air dried. It is also the last step in cleaning your JLT air filter.

(Step 1) 12oz Cleaner comes in a pump bottle that is sprayed on the inside as well as on the outside of the filter completely saturating it. You allow it to soak 10 minutes, then rinse it with cold water. Depending on how dirty it was, you may need to do this process twice.
It's important to let your filter AIR DRY NATURALLY and completely before appling the oil. I always clean my filter at night that way it can dry while I am sleeping and in the morning I spray the filter! They K&N say to allow the oil to wick I say allow to soak oe penetrate the cotton filter.
At K&N High Performance Air Filters, Air Intakes, & Oil Filters it runs $13.46

JLT has a new product, S&B Precision II: Cleaning and Oil Kit. It is actually less then K&N Cost per volume, I mean. It runs $29.00 but you get enough for 3 - 4 filter cleanings 32oz bottle and their filter oil. their product, actually the spray bottle of cleaner is no longer a pump but is now a trigger spray making it a thousand times better to spray and/or use.

You can check out their website ar JLT PERFORMANCE, Home of the JLT TRUE COLD AIR KIT. And There You Have It! I didn't intend for this to be so long!

This is some good info. My BBK filter is blue. I've heard the K&N cleaning kit has a red spray is this true because I like the blue filter that I have now and don't want it turning red.

contact Jay at JLT and double check that the K&N recharge kit will work for the S&B filters they sell.

I just purchased a new filter for 35 bucks due to recharging them gets a ton of oil everywhere. If you recharge it clean the maf after 200 or so miles (say a week) then again two weeks later and maybe one more time a month later. That gunk can mess up stuff.

You really should use K&N, don't go cheap just cuz it costs more money, you want good out of the car you gotta put good in it
It's not that I'm trying to go cheap. I'm trying to find the best way to keep it clean. This is my daily driver and I only have 1 car so if I use something and spray it onto my CAI and it messed up the engine I'm screwed I'm sure Ford won't cover any repairs needed

The K&N is made for CAI filters, and ford wouldn't cover aftermarket stuff either way, I'm just saying it works the best in my opinion, and I don't really see how water would help cuz it can't catch the small particles you really need to clean out

I have used K&N on my JLT CAI for the past 5 years only because I haven't found an Auto Parts Store that carries the JLT CAI CLEANER!

I have also have never experienced any mess with spraying the oil on my filter either! I Make sure I spray close to the filter (perhaps 2"- 3") away. I have the long filter and I start with spaying the oil inside the filter then spray each pleat starting at the bottom (big end) because I hold it by the rubber opening. When I finish, I'll check for light areas that I didn't spray enough on. When Im finished, I will stand it up on the big end or large opening. I then let it rest or sit like that for about 20 minutes so it can soak up the oior wick process. I will also wipe all the rubber areas down to remove excess oil. Oh! My oil filter is Red!

+1+1+1+1

I have a JLT cai and someone have me a k&n cai cleaning kit. Can I use it? I'm assuming it works the same way I just want to make sure. If not, how should I clean it?
Just follow the instruction that came with the product. If you don't have them, I do and will be happy to upload it. Or you can go to: Jlttruecoldair.com

As I said earier, I think, if not I say it now. If you have a JLT CAI and are you are concerned about using another brand cleaner or perhaps they aren't compatible? Well, I have been using both products together and have had wonderful results.

This is what I have. Ur telling my I can just water that intake to clean it, dry it and put it back on??
No! Water alone can not clean the filter. You need something that breaks down the oil but won't harm the cotton fibers of the filter!

This is some good info. My BBK filter is blue. I've heard the K&N cleaning kit has a red spray is this true because I like the blue filter that I have now and don't want it turning red.
It won't be "Red"! It Will Be Purple:lmao:

So I can really just clean it with soap and water
No, you can not use soap on it. You have to use the enclosed cleaning solution that breaks down the oil or degreaser (If you will) that came with it. And the water is only used to rinse all that crud.

Hahahahaha mine is blue
<Laughing> Oppsss!!! Meant to say, my "airfilter" is red, not my oil filter, that's purple! And that would be the color of your filter if you used K&N CAI Recharger (Red oil) I believe the cleaner is clear. I can't tell you for sure because it is in my garage and its late and my rollup doors make too much noise.

Hopefully it doesn't turn out like this color, hey! I like purple but, I love Red!
I guess I will have to swallow my blue pride hahahahaha and use the K&N cleaning kit.
Red and Black look great together actually, those two happen to be my favorite Anyway, you have a pretty car and remember, stiff upper lip if it ever turns out purple!

Degreaser spray, baybay. All the way.

But diluted!

We had this bang up mix we used to put together and use back in my days as a lot jockey and detailer.

Gunk, too. It's premixed for you.
